[an error occurred while processing this directive] | The Guardian isn't Ashton Kutcher's first dramatic role, but it's definitely not the genre normally associated with the Dude, Where's My Car actor. Kutcher - best known for playing tricks on his celebrity buddies on Punk'd and as the lovable goofball Michael Kelso on the TV series That '70s Show - puts the funny stuff aside for The Guardian, a Touchstone Pictures film directed by Andrew Davis (Holes).
The Guardian stars Kevin Costner as a well-respected Coast Guard rescue swimmer who takes a teaching assignment at the Coast Guard "A" School, an elite training school, after the tragic loss of his rescue crew. There, the Coast Guard vet leaves a lasting impression on everyone he teaches, in particular one student (Kutcher) who learns all about heroism and sacrifice from the seasoned Coast Guard swimmer. On a Side Note: After the devastation from Hurricane Katrina left much of New Orleans unusable, filming on the action drama The Guardian had to be moved to Shreveport, Louisiana. The Guardian launches rescue operations on September 29, 2006.
