Forget the traditional red carpet. At the Hollywood Premiere of Columbia Pictures'
Gridiron Gang, the cast including The Rock, Xzibit, Kevin Dunn, Leon Rippy, Jade Yorker, David Thomas, Michael J Pagan, Jamal Mixon, Danny Martinez, Trevor O'Brien, Mychal Smith, and Setu Taase made their way into the historic Grauman's Chinese Theater by way of a green carpet complete with yard markers.
Gridiron Gang is based on the true story of a juvenile detention camp probation officer who believed everyone, including the juvenile inmates in his care, deserved a second chance. Despite the many naysayers who thought it would never work, probation officer Sean Porter offered the inmates a chance to participate in football believing it would help teach the young men about teamwork and discipline. Putting aside their gang rivalries, the hard core teens transferred their energy from gang activities onto the playing field.
